about ryan
Ryan grew up in Wisconsin, moving to New York City after studying theatre at DePaul University in Chicago. Over 11 years ago, on his third day in the Big Apple, he saw an ad for a childrens' space on the Upper West Side that needed someone to play guitar and sing songs for its customers. Ryan stopped by and they hired him on the spot!
It was immediately obvious that Ryan's natural charm and easygoing nature were a perfect fit for children's entertainment. Kids connected with the energy he brought to his music and the respectful way he interacted with them. It wasn't long until someone asked Ryan to play at their child's birthday party. That person passed Ryan's name on to a friend and so on until Ryan was a hit of the Upper West Side party circuit.
From there, word spread through moms, dads and nannies to the Upper East Side, Downtown, to Brooklyn, Queens and across the city. Then people outside NYC started hearing about Ryan and booking him for parties in New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut and even Pennsylvania!
Today Ryan is one of the most sought-after musical entertainers in the Tri-State area, which led to coverage in The New York Post, an appearance on the Today Show and Time Out New York Kids naming him one of their "Favorite Entertainers."
His ability to communicate with children and engage them also proved to be ideal for the classroom setting. Ryan is in demand as a music instructor for young children, having taught at Kidville, Reebok Sports Club NY, LA Sports Club NY, and Preschool of America, among many others.
While on tour performing in Canada in 2005, Ryan met his wife Suzanne Beaubien, a journalist. They now live in northern Manhattan with their two-year-old daughter Lucy, who loves playing guitar and harmonica with her Daddy.
Ryan enjoys playing music with his own daughter.
